Mark...

“She sat listening to the music. It was a symphony of triumph. The notes flowed up, they spoke of rising and they were the rising itself, they were the essence and the form of upward motion, they seemed to embody every human act and thought that had ascent as its motive. It was a sunburst of sound, breaking out of hiding and spreading open. It had the freedom of release and the tension of purpose. It swept space clean, and left nothing but the joy of an unobstructed effort. Only a faint echo within the sounds spoke of that from which the music had escaped, but spoke in laughing astonishment at the discovery that there was no ugliness or pain, and there never had to be. It was the song of an immense deliverance.”

There are three things I admire most in this world. Beautiful music, beautiful art, and my beautiful husband.

A baby and her elephant

And then all three of us watched the Nutcracker. The end.

I promise I'll use my good camera again...

9 things that made my week

This homemade apple butter from my grandmother and all of the biscuits we ate it on.

Dagny's toe lint. It's my favorite thing to find and clean.

Our walk to gather berries.

And the purpose they served.

This Cook book from my mom. More importantly, the treasures it has inside: a letter to Santa with a pretty good wish list.

Two very important things:

My baking partner.

Thanksgiving week in a lot of pictures

Mark and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary and his 27th birthday.

We got a room at the Pearl hotel in Rosemary Beach over looking the gulf. Dagny stayed with my parents for the night!

We started a Thanksgiving morning tradition.

I'm not sure there is anything sweeter.

I spent the day baking this beautiful pie in between Pa's strict oven and prep times. Strict for everyone else but himself and the lions schedule.

I saved Thanksgiving with this beauty.

Pies were exceptional this year. Especially my mom's chocolate pecan pie.

Dags and I got all dressed up.

My Olivia Pope wine glass.

Brants heaven in your mouth homemade biscuits.

One year later there's a baby
